Dream House

Okay so to preface this review Im about to do,  Im going to suggest that everyone make better movie decisions when going to watch a movie before noon on a Saturday. Just because the tickets are cheaper does not mean the movie will rock.

Anyways. This movie stars James bond, Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz and is as if Shutter island had intercourse with Amityville Horror and then the two movies realized in a drunken haze that they were siblings and this abomination of a movie was the result. Now, im not saying it's bad, because a rotten tomato is bad, or a sprained ankle is bad. This is like a football sized goiter on your face kind of 'bad'.

The movie is like watching paint dry, because its very dry, very long and each time you think its finished, you touch the paint and it's still wet, meaning that you have to endure more of this storyline. I personally think that Daniel Craig, Naomi watts and Rachel Weisz are good actors individually, but in this setting there just didn't seem to be any chemistry between characters. Daniel Craig was good as James bond, but doesn't strike me as the fatherly type what with his constantly pursed lips and his ice blue eyes. He is still to much of a superhero to become a father and it shows in his character.

Rachel Weisz on the other hand is supposed to be the mother in this movie. And she blows at it. If there was any shittier mother in the world she deserves to get a guiness world record i mean common who the fuck cant tell the difference between a GUNSHOT WOUND and a Fever Blister?

Then there was Naommi Watts...... and who really cares... I was as much of an integral part to that movie as she was. She was the stitching in your jeans, the insulation to your house and the soles of your shoe. She was necessary to keep the whole movie together, but you dont really see her all too often.

Also A note about child actors. I dislike them with great passion and viggor. If you watch this movie, note when the youngest daughter dies from the 'Gunshot wounds' on her body its like someone told her "NOW Die sweetie!" and she closed her eyes. These little obvious errors and imperfections are EXTREMELY annoying to watch, it's as if the director didn't give a shit and just needed to make a deadline for completion. Come on man this is your art, put your fucking soul into every last drop of it.

Not a great movie over all, looked like it had a small budget and still had enough leftover to buy Romania. I give it a solid pass 5/10 for having snow in it and ushering us into a new season. Really this movie has that much going for it.

  1. hahahahaha i totally agree, aside from the mother not knowing about the whole gunshot wound thing... she was totally a good mom, painting with the children and playing games alll the time, they were always having fun! you gotta give her a break...she didnt even know she was dead!
